You will take core engineering modules that apply learning from maths and physics to solve real problems. You can choose to study for an extended certificate (1 A-level equivalent), diploma (2 A-level equivalent), or an extended diploma (3 A-level equivalent). You will study engineering principles, which is a foundation in maths and mechanics and then go on to study a range of compulsory and optional units such as CAD, CAM, electronic devices, microprocessors and engineering design. By studying this course with us you will gain access to our links with employers who will provide you with live briefs and placements.
The course is primarily assessed through coursework however there are two exams which are externally assessed. Students who have studied this course have gone on to study engineering and engineering related degrees at university; onto apprenticeships within a specialist engineering field such as CNC and injection moulding and into full-time jobs such lighting technicians at festivals.
